About Rusty Syrus

I have turned wrenches for as long as I can remember. Automotive was mainly my background growing up as a kid and into a young adult. Fast forward to 2015, I started working for Horner Industrial Group where I just starting out cleaning parts and delivering and picking up electric motors and other components. After learning all the different parts of motors, watching the old timers and getting my hands in there to help I’m now out of the shop and working in the field. As a Field Service Technician, I have many duties ranging from electric motor, pump, fan, and gearbox installs and removals, rigging, bearing installs, bearing protection, preventative maintenance schedules for AC and DC motors, ultrasonic surveys for air leaks, lubrication, electrical discharge and other applications, vibration data collection, laser alignment, and dynamic balancing. I’ve really learned a lot in the last few years especially when I look back and remind myself that I never worked with anything over 24vdc. Getting in my 40cal arc flash suit really gets the adrenaline flowing, that’s when you know stuff is getting really serious. I really love what I do!
