About Ruth Allen

As the Head of Communications and Development at ChildVision, I bring over 20 years of experience in communications, strategy, philanthropy, and marketing to advocate for the National Development Service for Children with sight Loss and Complex Needs. I have a Master of Business Studies (MBS) in Business from University College Cork, and I have completed several professional diplomas in strategy, innovation, governance, risk, and leadership from the Irish Management Institute. In my current role, I am responsible for creating and implementing effective fundraising and communications strategies, leading and managing projects, building and maintaining relationships with supporters and partners, and ensuring best industry practices. I am also passionate about improving eye health for all and I collaborate with other stakeholders and experts to promote awareness, education, and prevention of vision loss. Through my work, I aim to make a positive difference in the lives of children and families who face the challenges of blindness and disability.
