About Ruth Berlin
I am the executive director of the Maryland Pesticide Education Network and also a part-time psychotherapist in private practice. In 1990 my then 4 year old son and I were poisoned by a pesticide sprayed aerially in California. This led to my increased awareness regarding the impact of pesticides on public health and the environment. I founded the Maryland Pesticide Network in 1994. We launched our non-profit organization, the Maryland Pesticide Education Network in 2014. Our mission is the protection of people, wildlife, pollinators, our food supply and the environment from the hazards of pesticides and the promotion of safer alternatives.
