Currently a Senior Project Officer with TCV (The Conservation Volunteers), I run local community volunteering projects in woodlands around Reading to improve local biodiversity. I set up the Woodland Improvement Team as a regular Tuesday task force of volunteers to do practical conservation work in the winter and ecological monitoring in the summer. Alongside this, I am a Community Engagement Officer at Wellesley Woodlands in Aldershot (a former MOD, now SANG site), to engage residents in using their local green spaces by running outreach and community events. I also coordinate a River Warden Scheme in Buckingham and provide training to locals about monitoring the River Great Ouse. On a casual basis, I conduct bat surveys and assist in reptile translocation work for a local Wokingham based consultancy and on occasion work at a science centre for kids in Bracknell (Look Out Discovery Centre).
