About Ruth Kynoch

More than 20 years experience in leading, structuring and delivering large innovative projects/transactions in the infrastructure space. Currently on secondment to the Enterprise & Growth Unit at HM Treasury focussing on infrastructure. Spent 18 months, following an internal reorganisation, has led integration of Lead Advisory business which has involved setting strategy, governance, designing and implementing operational processes such as cost control and recruitment and leading on cultural and behavioural changes. Infrastructure experience includes- buyside or sell side advice on infra equity projects such as the successful sale of equity in a streetlighting portfolio for SSE and other landmark transactions- business case processes for example, working with the Uni of Edinburgh on their business case in relation to the City Deal - valuation, diligence and credit processes Over the years have been involved in a number of high profile projects such as the setting up of the Green Deal Finance Company and many award winning projects such as Skynet 5 and political and complex projects such as Galileo- Have an in depth understanding of European infrastructure deals including and the Scottish Government Non Profit Distribution (NPD) model; • Deep industry experience of finance raising for major capital projects or for corporate purposes – bank and capital markets solutions; • Up to date understanding of the funding environment and proven ability to structure and raise finance; • Extensive experience of banking and credit, including a period working for a European bank and a period leading PwC’s Scottish Debt Advisory team focussing on providing debt advice to Scottish businesses; • Significant experience of advising on debt raising, establishing debt funds, commercial diligence, project equity valuation and investment appraisal;
