About Ruth Oldman
I am a Medieval Scottish Literature scholar and a former tenure-track Professor of English composition and literature. My primary objectives for my career are: encouraging critical thinking, comprehension, and enthusiasm towards English language and literature in the classroom; advance the study and awareness of Scottish medieval literature; produce research that adds to a dynamic conversation about medieval literature; serve in ways that encourage student and educational growth; and grow the Medieval Makars Society so it can fulfill its objectives. Since taking a step back from academia, I have been focusing on volunteer efforts and giving back my community, particularly in the realm of Girl Scouting. I have recently been voted onto the Friends of Pax Lodge (USA) Committee for the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.
