About Ruth Stow

I commenced in post at Coventry University on the 1st April 2022, where I lead Interprofessional Education across the School of Health and Care. Within the scope of this role, I oversee the delivery of the IPE strategy across the suite of health courses, whilst developing the vision for IPE and contributing to the review, evaluation and further development of IPE at Coventry. Prior to my current role, I worked for Birmingham City University, where I developed, managed and monitored a postgraduate, pre-registration MSc in Dietetics. My responsibilities included, leading the delivery of the course including oversight of day to day operational processes, ensuring course compliance with quality standards and regulations, delivery of teaching across all modules and providing academic leadership to those working within the course team. Prior to this, I spent two years as an Assistant Professor in Nutrition and Dietetics at The University of Nottingham where I had teaching and tutoring responsibilities across all 4 years of the Master of Nutrition and Dietetics undergraduate degree programme in addition to involvement in convening, delivery and assessment of a number of modules on the Masters in Advanced Dietetic Practice and the Masters in Clinical Nutrition degree programmes. Before commencing employment in Higher Education, I practised as a senior nutrition support dietitian, managing a home enteral feeding caseload and providing a specialist service to those with complex oral nutritional needs. Within this role, I was responsible for the management and coordination of an award winning nutrition support project, which provided a wealth of opportunity to develop an excellent skills base in training and in public speaking. I have an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry, a postgraduate diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics and a Masters in Clinical Health Research. As part of my MRes, I designed and conducted a cluster randomised feasibility trial across 6 UK care home sites. I am now involved in supervising Masters research projects on a variety of topics and in 2021, I commenced a Doctorate in Health Practice.
