About Ruth Webster

HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist. Currently working in a Specialist Children Looked After and Adopted team in SLaM NHS Foundation Trust. Since my specialist placement on training, I have been passionate about providing a service to the cohort of children and young people who are looked after and adopted. I work hard to help young people and their families make sense of their histories and what has happened to them in order to live a meaningful life, in line with their values. I draw on various approaches in my work, including systemic, CBT, CFT, ACT and DBT. I have experience adapting my approach to neurodevelopmental conditions, intellectual disabilities and other needs. In my current role, I am currently undertaking an internal research project exploring the support and experiences of adoptive parents post-adoption within my service.
