I’m an architect-trained Design Manager currently studying MSc Construction Project Management at the University of Westminster and building my long-term career in the UK construction industry.For over 10 years, I’ve delivered high-end residential and commercial interior projects – from first sketch to handover. I’m used to working with demanding clients, complex sites and tight programmes, and I enjoy being the person who holds the design, the details and the stakeholders together so the project actually gets built.My experience so far has included:• Leading and coordinating luxury residential and interior fit-out projects with values typically between £2m–£15m+.• Producing and reviewing GFC drawings, technical details, BOQs and specifications to ensure designs are buildable and commercially sound.• Working day-to-day with contractors, consultants and suppliers, resolving design issues on site and keeping works aligned with the agreed scope.• Acting as a client-facing designer, translating lifestyle and business needs into practical layouts, clear options and realistic budgets.At Westminster, my MSc is helping me translate this real-world design and site experience into the language of UK construction project management. I’m gaining structured knowledge in:• Project planning & controls – WBS, Gantt charts, critical path, delay analysis.• Procurement & contracts – NEC / JCT awareness, tendering routes, risk allocation.• BIM & information management – coordination of design information, clash reduction.• Cost, risk and value – cost–volume–profit, value management, whole-life thinking.As a person, I’m organised, direct and calm under pressure. I like clarity: clear briefs, clear drawings, clear programmes and honest conversations when something is drifting off track.
