About Ruud W.

My career started in Rotterdam, one of the main ports of Europe. The port is the gateway to the European market of more than 350 million consumers. It was at the shipping line Sealand where my passion for logistics started. My working experience has enabled me to adapt to the working environment of large and medium organizations, network with a wide variety of people, improve my theoretical and practical knowledge of general management, marketing and sales of logistics companies. In the 20+ years I worked in Africa I became an expert in marketing and setting up big scale logistics solutions for the mining industry, agriculture and construction sector. I further learned to adapt to different cultures and challenging economic situations. In Durban I learned the ins and outs of managing large port operations involving customs brokerage, air and ocean forwarding, warehousing and distribution. As the Director of Reload Logistics I aim to build a solid consolidated company which will be the market leader in warehousing and logistics in Southern Africa. Specialties: business development, customer relations, Dutch, English, German, shipping, customs brokerage, freight forwarding, Warehouse Management Systems, and I-cloud logistics solutions. Operational experience in The Netherlands, Germany, Zambia, Tanzania, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, DRC, and Mozambique.
