About Ruzan Daruwalla

At 14 years of age, I trekked, canoed, camped and traversed 100 miles, on foot, across Canada’s Great Barrier Lakes with a 9-member boy scout team. It was all about teamwork.Informally regarded as ‘The Most Extreme High Adventure in Scouting’ I was ‘living-off-the-land’ for 11 days with a 50 lb. backpack, a 100 lb. canoe, a fish-paring knife in mostly wet socks! I am grateful to have this experience where I took-in true blue skies, sparkling clear COLD waters and nights studded with shimmering, gorgeous star constellations. Staring at a full-grown Canadian bull moose, upwards of 1,400 lbs, 6’ tall at the shoulders, 10’ from me, untethered (both he and I; me not moving a muscle), as I sat against a tree one night star-gazing is one of the many experiences that I revisit in my memories.My enthusiasm, commitment, adaptability and work ethic define me. Delivering breakthroughs and adding-value, drives me. I am a resilient, reliable, task-focused, collaborative, team-engaging, engineer-in-training with international exposure, good communication, presentation and negotiation skills. A life-long learner, I am receptive to new learnings and am immensely grateful for my instinctive research abilities. My volunteering and working with all age groups – both young adults and advanced age seniors – are valuable experiences that allow me to tailor my engagements and interactions to drive positive results.
