About Ryan Akiyama

I work at the intersection of global expansion, go-to-market strategy, and partnerships, helping Japanese and international companies turn strong products into scalable businesses across borders. Currently, I support Sourcenext as a business development partner, sourcing innovative overseas products and helping bring them to market in Japan by designing focused go-to-market strategies and execution plans that leverage Sourcenext’s direct customer access and distribution strength. In parallel, through Royal One, I support Japanese companies expanding into global markets, working closely with business leaders on international growth strategy, partner alignment, and market entry execution. Earlier in my career, I worked as an Executive Assistant to a CEO in the software industry, which gave me a front-row seat to decision-making at the executive level and a deep understanding of how strategy, operations, sales, and marketing intersect in practice. That experience continues to shape how I approach business development today, with a strong bias toward clarity, speed, and execution. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Southern California and am native-level bilingual in English and Japanese. I’m particularly interested in how modern tools and AI can be applied pragmatically to improve go-to-market execution and cross-border collaboration.
