About Ryan Alsup

I am a dedicated and accomplished school leader with a wealth of experience in educational administration. Over the course of my career, I have served as Administrative Dean, Assistant Principal, Athletics and Activities Director, and Principal.I have had the privilege of leading in four very different high schools, each of which provided valuable opportunities to collaborate with gifted leaders and educators to deliver a world-class education. As Principal, I have built strong leadership teams and implemented key programs that drove measurable improvement. Under my leadership: • Juneau-Douglas High School achieved Annual Yearly Progress status for the first time, demonstrating 10% growth in every measured area. • Evergreen High School raised its composite ACT scores from 23.8 in 2013 to 26.0 in 2016, earning multiple high academic honors, including the 2015 National Blue Ribbon Award.Currently, I serve as High School Principal at STEM School Highlands Ranch, where I have the unique opportunity to work with a dedicated and innovative staff as we educate the leaders of tomorrow. STEM students consistently strive for excellence, which is reflected in our strong school rankings and the exceptional post-secondary options available to our graduates.Throughout my career, I have demonstrated the ability to lead by building strong relationships, connecting with people, and leveraging collective expertise to improve organizational outcomes. By including staff in shared decision-making, we were able to implement meaningful changes that improved student achievement and earned awards and accolades across multiple schools. My leadership model works because it empowers staff to take an active role in shaping the direction of the school. When the staff believes in the vision, success follows.
