About Ryan Batts

I am a sophomore at the Herbert College of Agriculture at the University of Tennessee. I am working towards a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in construction science and management and a minor in business administration. I am a strong, natural-born leader who strives daily to better myself and those around me. I am a very restorative thinker, meaning I combat lasting problems with new ideas that can make an impact and bring about new opportunities. Currently, as the New Member Educator at the Tennessee Epsilon chapter of Phi Kappa Psi, I lead new member classes toward becoming valuable, intelligent, and collaborative members of my fraternity. As a professional, I strive to work in the construction industry as a construction manager. I am very interested in the way things are built and the logistics behind constructing large projects. Due to my courses at the Haslam College of Business and the Herbert College of Agriculture, I can look at construction projects from a business perspective and provide the most profitable and sustainable results that are possible. I want to learn through experience; therefore, my main goal currently is to intern at either a construction company or a company that requires insight into the construction industry. After graduation, I am hoping to receive a position within the construction management realm where I can be a crucial asset to operations. I am very passionate about my future, and I firmly believe that by the time I enter the workforce, I will be one of the most qualified young professionals in my field.
