About Ryan Beesley

I have been a software engineering professional since 2001, and formally been studying programming since the 7th grade, taking college classes in Basic and Pascal as part of a nationwide talent search program. I interned with the Windows Shell team and joined Office Shared Services directly out of Texas A&M, having earned an Electrical Engineering Technology degree. I have been testing Internet technologies since 2002 when I started testing SharePoint Portal Server 2003 and had been a developer of websites and web services for several years before that. My most recent period at Microsoft I spent working on Localization for Team Xbox and Windows 10. Working at Zillow, I spent 3 solid years working with Microsoft SQL Server and Java technologies. In that role I worked across disciplines as an SDET with supporting roles in Operations and Development. At Swype, I built a solid reputation managing and coordinating our SDETs. I was the architect and PM of an internal tool to programmatically evaluate the Swype algorithm's accuracy. The tool could use real-world samples of user input or could synthetically generate Swype traces that would adapt to any number of keyboards or languages. This allowed us to rapidly scale to new languages as quickly as they could be introduced. I've worked as a Sr. Consultant across Test, Developer, and PM disciplines. I have experience across multiple operating systems, from mobile devices to back end SOA servers. I have a passion for mobile devices and extensive experience with Android tablets and phones down to very low-level access. I'm passionate about HCI and how the computer industry continues to evolve. Most recently I've worked as the Director of Quality Assurance at Geneia and look for opportunities to be an important part of leadership and bringing products to fruition and leading teams to success.
