About Ryan Bourner

Ryan Bourner is an Environmental Technologist at AET Group (AET). He obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, with a specialization in Chemical Engineering, along with a Post Graduate Certificate in Environmental Management and Assessment. At AET, Ryan has applied his year of experience in the waste management sector to help them execute solid waste studies, optimization studies at Material Recovery Facilities and visual inbound material audits at landfills. Prior to his employment at AET, he worked for three years with The Wine Council of Ontario on the Sustainable Winemaking Ontario (SWO) program, where he applied his background in process design, chemistry and environmental management. With Ryan's assistance building educational material for Ontario wineries, the program gained recognition by the Minister's Award for Environmental Excellence and the Premier's Award for Agrifood Innovation Excellence. His skills in stakeholder outreach and communication were crucial for working with government agencies and industry partners on these projects. Ryan has also worked on scientific projects as diagnosing regeneration efficiency in ion exchange, testing the efficacy of "green" antimicrobial products and designing a wastewater treatment facility. Ryan is currently working towards his certification with ECO Canada as an Environmental Professional. He is very excited to have the opportunity to grow along with the team at AET. Outside of work, Ryan enjoys hiking and bicycling throughout the Niagara Region and spending quality time with his wife and daughter.
