About Ryan Brown

Ryan is a Bilingual-certified Spanish World Language and English Language Arts educator. He has taught Foreign Language and Heritage Language Spanish classes, as well as Bilingual English Language Arts classes for students who have transitioned from the school's ESL program. Ryan has experience implementing high-quality, research-based curriculums like SOMOS, a comprehensible-input language program, and College Board Pre-AP, a rigorous curriculum designed to prepare Freshmen and Sophomores for Advanced Placement study. Ryan is an experienced teacher leader. He has served on Kelly College Preparatory's Professional Problems Committee where he helped to find solutions to contractual concerns with school leadership. He also served on the Professional Personnel Leadership Committee where he helped to inform decisions around curriculum, instruction, and culture. Additionally, Ryan served his colleagues as a Chicago Teachers Union High School Associate Voting Delegate, working to carry out the school's mission and vision while protecting union members' contractual rights.
