About Ryan Carrigan

Greetings! My name is Ryan Carrigan. I am a graduate of Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies, and minors in Journalism and Political Science. I currently work as a Customer Care Representative for Country Financial, an insurance and financial services company located in Bloomington, Illinois. I am a licensed insurance producer for Property/Casual insurance in 19 states, including Illinois. My interests and skills constitute a mixture of talents acquired through my extensive background in communication studies. These include project management, artist/brand management, traditional and social media marketing, public speaking, event planning, and strategic communication. In my short time as a working professional, I have effectively utilized these abilities across a variety of disciplines. I am active in local politics, generally serving as a political strategist and/or organizer for grassroots campaigns. These include my previous role as Campaign Director for Aaron Dauterman for Athens City Council, and my work as a volunteer with Brian Deters for Illinois' 18th Congressional District campaign. My knack for strategic messaging and brand management was refined by these professional development opportunities, turning raw instinct into demonstrable experience. Becoming more knowledgeable in these areas pushed me to apply them through an unconventional outlet: independent artist management. Over the past two years I have managed a sucessful regional band in my free time, booking and organizing over 30 shows in eight states. My passion for music and experience with political communication led me into this role, providing me a unique opportunity to learn about the inner workings of the music industry. My greatest skill lies in public speaking: I was nationally ranked in both high school and college forensics, my career spanning nine years. This included multiple state titles, national quarterfinals, semi-finals, and final rounds.
