About Ryan Carson

As a child, toy cars, train sets, and planes were my companions. I would spend hours on the floor creating intricate grids, tracks, and runways with anything I could find. My passion for engineering ignited as I envisioned bustling cities, people commuting to work, and shipments brought in by rail. Today, as a third-year civil engineering student, I am interested in transportation engineering, roadway design, and traffic engineering. Through my classes, I have gained problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills, and technical experience with Civil 3D and ArcGIS Pro. Beyond my academic pursuits, I have engaged in roles that showcase my ability to communicate complex concepts. As a math tutor, I have honed my interpersonal skills by assisting students in grasping challenging mathematical concepts. As a learning assistant, I have learned to collaborate with a team as I communicate with professors and fellow learning assistants to ensure an effective approach to student support. As a dedicated student eager to apply my theoretical knowledge and gain hands-on experience, I am actively seeking an internship opportunity to acquire further experience with software such as Microstation, contribute to impactful projects, and develop my skills under the mentorship of experienced professionals.
