About Ryan Chernick

I work daily to make the college admissions process as simple as possible. My students and their families know I am here to help connect them with all the great resources our university offers. Removing barriers and advocating for prospective students is a great way to spend a workday. I'm originally from Zanesville, Ohio ( famous for our appearance on the Netflix show Tiger King), and then lived in North-West Ohio for seven years before locating to the greater DC area. I finished my undergraduate education at Bowling Green State University in 2017 and will complete my master's with UToledo in the Spring of 2024 Personal growth is my top priority in my private life and professional career. We can always be working to improve ourselves and the systems around us. With complacency comes atrophy. Whether in higher education or any other field, we need to look at the world empathetically and find creative solutions to systemic problems. The other big passion in my life has always been comedy. It started as improv classes in middle school, and now I spend my evenings and weekend traveling around the mid-west doing stand-up. Everyone needs a constructive, creative outlet, and for me, it's talking to strangers about my fear of the sun and love for Arbys.
