About Ryan Cleary

I am a graduate of Purdue University with a degree in computer engineering. I am passionate about taking on new challenges and applying my skills as well as working with other people. I am seeking a career in the fields of quantum computing, energy, robotics, AI, and chip design. As an undergraduate I had exposure to an extremely wide variety of disciplines. In my courses I learned C programming principles such as multithreading, data structures, and algorithms. I also took courses in operating systems, compilers, and networks. One of my favorite courses was CPU design. I learned the principles of programming in a hardware description language as well as new ways to think about hardware and its design. Also, my partner and I created a very fast processor able to complete a dual-core mergesort algorithm. I applied my C programming skills in my microcontroller courses. In one, building a unique and fun version of the popular app flappy bird and the other was my senior project. My senior project revolved around programming an ESP32 microcontroller to take data from sensors and extract the useful information. I selected the sensors we would be using, interfaced with them, wrote the algorithms for data processing, and packaged the data up to be displayed to the user. For professional experience, I had internships in machine learning and digital logic design. During these internships I excelled at collaborating with my peers. I also excelled at using the human resources available to me and learned a lot from the other people working for the company, in engineering and outside of it.
