About Ryan Cruz

My life and work are both guided by my fierce desire to understand and steward the natural world. I have been a student of the chaparral and tidepools of California, the misty rivers of the Northwest, and the wild reaches of the Rocky Mountains. I help my clients embrace their role as keystone species and thrive as part of a thriving environment. As a restoration ecologist, I work with freshwater, wetlands, and wildlife, specializing in project-specific, nature-based solutions. I provide diverse environmental consulting, engineering, and planning services as part of the team at Herrera, as well as lake management as Keystone Ecological. Floating Treatment Wetlands have been an especially important tool in my box since 2018. My areas of interest include- Nature-Based Solutions, including Floating Treatment Wetlands - Biological site assessment - Lake management and algae bloom treatment - Fish and game habitat enhancement - Community outreach and engagement - Anything involving wild food Feel free to message me – I’d love to chat, share, and learn.
