My career goal is to make healthcare more efficient, accessible, affordable, and improve patient outcomes leveraging data. 4+ years as an Air Force analyst have provided lessons in business analysis such as- Understanding the business problem or context of the request before diving into the data - How to clearly explain analysis methods and results to non-technical stakeholders - Seeing available data that is messy, across multiple tables, needing validation, or all of the above as a challenge and not an obstacle - Adjusting to quickly changing stakeholder requirements under tight deadlines - In and out of work, listening to understand as a way to both learn and show respect Why pivot to healthcare? COVID opened my eyes to how data can be used in life-saving, preventative care and became a window for how else data can be used. We all know the US healthcare and public health systems have room for improvement, and I'm up for the challenge.
