What does it mean to be a great manager in a real estate brokerage? As a Managing Broker for in the South Okanagan, it means enhancing the dynamic culture and skills of agents in my offices. I’ve found that open communication and being available enable me to respond quickly to my agents and their clients, coaching and mentoring them through tough negotiations so that everyone comes out on top. My career began in the hotel industry, where I learned about the power of honesty and integrity and treating others as you want to be treated. Sugar-coating situations doesn’t help, and so I applied myself to become adept at providing feedback that was constructive and motivating. There’s no point in issuing judgments that bring an agent down: their productivity certainly won’t improve. When I launched my real estate career my attitude didn’t change. In fact, in the face of so many other realtors that treated their clients like transactions and not like people, I made it my business to be a top agent that lived and died by integrity and trust. It’s because of this hard work that I was able to achieve top agent status every single year. Now it’s my turn to help agents be better, do better and live the life that they want. It’s within reach of each and every agent in my office. It’s my passion to make it a reality.
