My goal is to add value to my clients, colleagues and communities whenever possible. My career path has given me a deep understanding of how public policy decisions impact enterprises and marketplaces. My experience includes nonprofit (large and small), for profit, industry association, state legislature and U.S. Congress. I approach government affairs and advocacy with the goal of building bridges. My employers and collaborators have appreciated my ability to translate complex legal and regulatory issues into insights that are actionable and clear. Key Accomplishments • Successfully lobbied for keynote legislation (2023): Minnesota Child Tax Credit (CTC). I co-led this effort with three partners. This was the single largest Minnesota state budget item passed in 2023. The Minnesota CTC is a nation-leading law estimated to reduce child poverty in the state by one-third. Star Tribune: Family economics must top session agenda. • Retooled systems and built strategic partnerships that added reciprocal value to the University of Minnesota’s $2 billion supply chain by tapping the potential of small businesses owned by women, minority groups and differently-abled individuals. • Partnered to provide risk management support through the Broker Legal Hotline for licensed real estate agents/brokers in Minnesota.
