About Ryan Eagleson
I am a Marine Biologist and National Geographic Explorer, currently leading the science program for the Protected Areas Establishment Branch of Parks Canada with a particular focus on National Marine Conservation Areas and National Parks. In my personal and academic careers, I specialize in seafloor invertebrate and Caribbean reef ecology/habitat mapping. I have personally led four field expeditions, authored several first author academic publications, and have been awarded more than in grants and awards supporting these endeavors. I am currently a lead coordinator for the Eastern Canada Explorer Hub of National Geographic Society, as well as Ocean Wise Ambassador and Conservation Steward with the Canadian Conservation Corps. Also a Trebek Initiative Grantee, and an Explorer with both the National Geographic Society and the Explorers Club.
