About Ryan Ettner

Hello, I'm Ryan Ettner, a senior at the University of Michigan majoring in Biomedical Engineering and doing the International Minor for Engineers. I am actively seeking full-time and internship opportunities to apply my knowledge to real-world projects. Having designed in a regulatory space with my academic projects, I have experience with CAD and using FEA, and have both mechanical and electrical design and prototyping experience. My previous research areas include tissue engineering and biomaterials, which enhanced my wet and dry lab skills as well as furthering my literature review and technical writing skills. In my role as Youth Staff with UCLA Recreation I have grown my problem solving, customer service, and direct communication skills as well. I am passionate about leadership, and am currently serving as Co-President of the University of Michigan Fencing Club, of which I have been an active member for the entirety of my college career. I want to use my time serving the organization to build the team's competitiveness and comradery as well as maintain relationships with current and former club members. I have developed and executed a successful recruitment strategy with both in-person and digital campaigns, recruiting over 100 new members for the club. My goal is to contribute my engineering and leadership experience to projects that make a meaningful impact. I am always open to connecting with fellow students, professionals, and mentors who share a passion for biomedical engineering.
