About Ryan Fitzgerald

Over the past eight years, my journey as an educator has allowed me the privilege of working with a variety of students with individual academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs. My experiences, from beginning as a teacher’s assistant within the Locust Valley Central School District to working as an Elementary Education teacher at Syosset Central School District, have allowed me multiple opportunities to develop my pedagogy as an educator. I have experienced working in a variety of general education and special education classroom settings, including self-contained and I.C.T. classrooms. As an educator, I consistently and actively strive to create an inclusive learning environment for all my students by meeting my students where they are at, and scaffolding or differentiating my instruction and use of materials to support their individual learning preferences, needs, and abilities. I consistently and actively pursue opportunities to continue to build my expertise in the field of education, as I believe that learning is an ongoing process. I have engaged in ongoing efforts to support a whole-person approach to the academic, social, and emotional needs of my students. I have worked to build a successful and positive student-driven learning environment that has helped my students to achieve success and growth, while building their confidence and appreciation of others.
