About Ryan Flores

I empower aerospace engineers to do more of what they love: make planes fly. I started small. As a side hustle, I automated tedious tasks in my team’s day-to-day work like parsing requirement markups and routing Simulink signals. My contributions were quickly recognized; my manager even went so far as to say “If I could hire 3 more engineers just like you, I would.” Encouraged by the positive feedback and joy of applying my coding skills, I took it to the next level. I spent my after-work hours earning a certificate in Python, which exposed me to a plethora of new concepts and skills from test-driven development and object-oriented programming to SQL and django. From there, I broadened my impact by joining my current team, MBD Ops, which is laying the foundation for the future of flight control software development for the entirety of Boeing Commercial Airplanes. From building gitlab pipelines and docker containers, to writing flight software for customer projects, I’m continuing to drive improvements within my team and the greater company. I also remain dedicated to expanding my software engineering knowledge outside of work. I’m currently wrapping up a 3 course certificate in Software Development and Design Essentials which has built up my foundations in critical areas such as algorithms, data structures, and big O analyses.
