About Ryan Fries

I am currently a Senior at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire pursuing a major in Actuarial Science, a minor in Finance, and a certificate as a computer programmer. My coursework and background performing actuarial research through my University have helped prepare me for the world of product development, model analysis, and financial risk management. Over my college experience, I have dedicated my time to expanding my necessary skills and preparing myself for the professional world. Thus far, I have passed professional exams P, FM, IFM, and STAM, and I plan to take exam FAM-L in March of 2023. At Eau Claire, my research has enhanced and developed the skills I have learned in my courses. In addition, through research I have learned to program in VBA and RStudio, spending hours working with code and analyzing statistical results. Through other experiences including working in IT and participating in a regional actuarial case competition, I have been able to improve my creative problem-solving abilities and prepare myself for a professional environment. I am currently looking to build my professional network and advance my professional knowledge. I would appreciate any help in achieving this goal and encourage any discussion about my experience.
