About Ryan Gauthier

I am currently a Software Engineer at Open Energy Solutions (OES). Through its products and services, OES helps utilities and utility customers realize value from advanced and emerging technologies that are dramatically altering the way today's grid and associated markets operate. OES offers Grid Integration Services including operational integration, IT/OT convergence, and the internet of things (IoT). OES resources are uniquely positioned to address the convergence of utility operational, computing, and telecom platforms. I am responsible for the software that directly helps deliver solutions that utilize modern architectures for the industry. Before developing my expertise in software, I worked a few dead-end jobs with limited growth potential and pay. I soon realized that I wasn’t the type of kid who just peeled off the stickers to solve my Rubik’s cube puzzle, I researched solutions, stuck with them, and practiced solving the cube again and again. That drew me toward the Software Development program at Spokane Community College. I’m passionate about my work and always eager to connect with other programmers. While I enjoy all aspects of my job, I think my favorite stage of a project is seeing the final product. As I go through the collaborative process, the ideas start to flow and that’s always the fun part. I have an Associate's Degree in Software Development from Spokane Community College. The Program focused on PHP, Ruby, and Javascript languages and development in an Agile team environment. My current work experience is in a Results Only Work Environment which has taught me to be an independent worker focused on problem-solving.
