About Ryan Geary

Ryan is the Director of Finance and Operations at FJ Labs - an stage-agnostic venture capital firm that specializes in marketplaces and network-effect businesses. At FJ, he develops and executes financial controls and processes regarding investments, treasury management, and financial reporting. He also leads the valuation process of FJ's robust and extensive portfolio with more than active investments. Before joining FJ, Ryan was a Roberston Fellow and Assistant Principal at Success Academy Charter Schools, where he was responsible for curriculum implementation, teacher development, and parent communication for a 500-scholar middle school. During his tenure at Success, Ryan's scholars performed exceptionally well on New York State year-end assessments - 95% demonstrating proficiency in Mathematics and Reading - compared to public school scholars across the state scoring below 45%. Prior to Success, Ryan was a Director at FTI Consulting in the firm's Forensic and Litigation Consulting practice, where he advised clients and counsel regarding economic disputes, financial investigations, and complex accounting matters. Ryan obtained a B.S. in Applied Accounting & Finance from Fordham University and a M.S. in Accounting from Baruch College.
