About Ryan Grabiner

At just 7 years old, my baseball coach constantly emphasized the quote "Effort takes no talent." This resonated with me and I apply it in my life everyday, leading me to become extremely passionate, determined, and personable. Passionate - I've always enjoyed helping others, which is why I was a part of my school's Freshman Mentor Program (FMP) in high school. Through this program, I met with a group of freshmen four times each week, helping them adjust to high school. As an FMP, I had the satisfaction of knowing that I helped someone everyday, and there was nothing better than seeing my group of freshmen succeed. Helping others has become a part of my character and is something I'm extremely passionate about. Determined - There's nothing I hate more than being bad at something, so when I joined the bowling team as a high school sophomore, I was determined to improve. When I began, I averaged about 100, but my determination led me to becoming a state champion, averaging 230 with three perfect games. No matter how much talent someone has, it’s impossible to be successful without putting in effort. I put in an immense amount of effort to be a good mentor towards freshmen, become a great bowler, and connect with a wide variety of people. Without these efforts, I wouldn't be nearly as passionate, determined, or personal, which are three skills that I am looking forward to using to make myself the best person I can be.
