About Ryan Harry

Recent Mechanical Engineering graduate from the University of Washington with a passion for solving complex engineering challenges through hands-on prototyping, simulation, and design iteration. During my senior capstone with Blue Origin, I led structural simulations and experimental validation of multilayer aluminum honeycomb composites, developing a custom equation to model stress-strain behavior and predict energy absorption with high accuracy. My work combined FEA, mechanical testing, and data analysis to assess reusability. At UW CoMotion Labs, I support early-stage startups as a hardware technician by maintaining lab equipment, assisting prototype development, and ensuring safe, effective use of the space. I assist with 3D printing, CNC equipment, electronics workbenches, and rapid prototyping resources. This role has strengthened my hands-on skills, deepened my exposure to startup R&D environments, and taught me how to support agile, high-iteration hardware development teams.
