About Ryan Hartfield

With a professional career spanning 25 years, I am a senior energy and resources executive and commercial lawyer. I have worked on projects and transactions in over twenty countries across Australia, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East and Africa. I have spoken frequently at industry conferences and events and have also actively contributed on industry working groups.I have extensive experience in compliance and corporate governance matters. My ability to analyse and understand risk and contribute to strategy development has been invaluable in my executive and senior in-house legal roles to date and has enabled me to actively contribute as part of senior management teams to ensure sustainable, positive outcomes for my companies. I am also an Alternate Director of Oman LNG in Oman. This directorship as well as my graduation from the AICD Company Directors Course has enabled me to further hone my corporate governance skillset. I have particular expertise in the negotiation and drafting of complex commercial agreements, as well as in advising on operational, commercial, joint venture, procurement, insurance, labour relations, dispute resolution, corporate, company secretarial and regulatory matters. My years of in-house legal experience have allowed me to develop a diverse set of skills and an exposure to many different commercial and regulatory frameworks. This enables me to actively advise my companies on growth opportunities, as well as on how best to secure their positions legally, commercially and from an external relations perspective.
