I am currently a critical care nurse manager 1 at the mater private cork. I have previously worked as a critical care nurse with healthcare Australia, Providing individualised nursing care to an assigned group of clients. In the past I worked in the General and COVID intensive care units at the Cork University Hospital. Here I completed the National Foundation Education Module Critical Care Nursing and developed my critical care nursing skills. Whilst working here I gained the following summary of experience. Neurosurgical & neurology patient care. Intracranial pressure monitoring, external ventricular drain care & seizure management. Maintaining neuroprotective measures. Administration of appropriate sedation. Continuous neurology assessment and altering patient management to same. Use of confusion assessment method tool (CAM). ​ Advanced airway management. Assisting with intubations and use of adjunctive airways. Knowledge in modes of ventilation and changing ventilator supports in response to patient’s condition. Analysing arterial blood gasses and altering patient management in response to same. Weaning ventilation & extubation as appropriate.
