About Ryan Hennessey

I am a Platform Strategist with progressive experience in the IT industry since graduating from UNB with a Bachelor's in Computer Science in 2007. As well, I'm a bit of a bookworm, a gamer, and I love spending time with my family. I'm always interested in the latest technology, and I love playing, singing, and listening to music. I volunteer my time at Capital Community Church, helping out with various things like music. I was fortunate to be hired right out of University by Xwave, A Division of Bell Aliant (now Bell Business Markets). After gaining some very valuable experience I felt the need to move on. After three years with Xwave, I was hired by the Government of New Brunswick (GNB) as a developer with the department of Natural Resources (DNR). On April 1, 2016, many of the GNB IT resources were centralized, and I became an employee of Service New Brunswick (SNB). In 2018, I took a position of Senior Systems Analyst within SNB with Corporate Applications, Registries and Operational Support, and three years later, accepted the position of Senior Business Systems Analyst with the same group. In January 2023, I was fortunate to be offered the position of Platform Strategist with the Corporate Platforms and Digital Solutions Services (CPADSS) unit within SNB. As this team is a front-runner for adopting agile and practices at an enterprise scale, this is a great fit for me. I am passionate about moving away from a traditional way of working within government to a mindset that is flexible, adaptable, maintainable and able to keep up with the ever-accelerating pace of change in the IT industry- I play well with others, and I'm willing to help out where needed regardless of official title or role- I believe in relentless improvement- I love solving problems. The harder, the better.
