About Ryan Heyden

I am currently a Research Coordinator in the Department of History and Senior Advisor in the Research Office for Administration, Development, and Support at McMaster University. My long-term career goals include research advising, policy writing, and government-NGO relations. Among many, my key skills include: qualitative and quantitative research methods; advanced analytical writing; grant writing; foreign language abilities in German and French; project and time management; intuitive problem solving; community engagement; and crafting of stakeholder relationships. I have strong interpersonal skills, working as an educator in higher education for upwards of 8 years. I also have over 5 years customer service experience and 2 years management experience. My studies have provided me with specific expertise in the history of modern Germany and Europe, the history of humanitarianism, humanitarian law, and general humanities education. I am continuously looking for ways to develop my professional, research, writing, and language skills.
