Hello! I have worked at FedEx for 13 years in various roles. I started in Customer Service handling in bound calls to correct any customer issues with bills, pick ups, deliveries, scheduling both pick ups and deliveries, account creation and sales leads. A year later, I accepted a position in the Pricing department where I implemented and audit customer pricing agreements into the pricing system for rating to be applied correctly, this was done in a Linux terminal. One year later I was asked to assist a specialized audit team for rating errors where bills did not receive any discounts on their bills and they were rated at full price. I spent 6 years working with that team and learned a great deal of information. I also volunteered during the last half of that time assisting with the Account Establishment and Maintenance team growing my knowledge in all aspects of customer accounts and setup. It was at this time that I took an opportunity to join another specialized team working directly with Sales and customers in an administrative role providing support for specific customers and their Sales Managers. I volunteered again to learn something new and quickly became the Lead SQL Data Analyst within this role. In this new found role within the team I learned in depth how to read/write SQL in queries for a DB2 database before learning Oracle Cloud Database and migrating old queries to a new system with new SQL Syntax. Two years later I found myself accepting a position in the Credit & Collections department as a Corporate Account Collections Associate, learning an entirely new role in my career. This role has helped me work even better with a larger team and taking on more responsibility. I am currently still in this role, working a large portfolio of customers accounts on a daily basis. I am now working towards learning Cyber Security and I have begun with the Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate, which I am on a fast track to finishing early. I plan to continue on with CompTia Security+ after completing the Google training and will continue learning and taking courses to further my knowledge. I will be working on at home labs to gain hands on training while I continue to learn and look for a new career path in Cyber Security. I do not have a large portion of my work experience in the IT field although I have tried numerous times to enter the field. It's discouraging to hear "you're over qualified for this entry level Help Desk position" while not being qualified to work in any other IT field. It is my goal to succeed in following my dreams!
