In my previous role as COO and CFO of Beyond Good Chocolate and Vanilla we worked on transforming the chocolate industry. While >70% of the worlds cacao is grown in Africa, only <1% of the world’s chocolate is made in Africa. We managed the only factory manufacturing chocolate for the US market in Africa. To compliment the chocolate product range, I also lead the overhaul of our vanilla supply chain to increase transparency, quality and costs. Throughout my career I’ve been progressively challenged on how to develop strategies that deliver sustainable social and environmental impact at scale. The journey continues with a few more ventures in the pipeline.
