About Ryan Kendall

Ryan began his career teaching history in Oklahoma. Since moving to Alabama in 2009 he has worked as a teacher, technology integrationist, technology director, and school administrator. Currently he serves as Director of Human Resources and Technology for Pike Road Schools in Pike Road, Alabama. Ryan holds advanced degrees in Instructional Technology and Instructional Leadership. He is passionate about student-centered learning, leadership, and transformation in education. As a founding member of the PRS team, Ryan has worked tirelessly to further the mission of PRS, which is to create a culture of intellectual curiosity where students have ownership of their learning and they are inspired to think, innovate, and create. For the past six years, he has supported this mission through leading, training and supporting teachers in the use of technology and learner-centered pedagogies. Prior to his work at PRS, he served as the Director of Instructional Technologies in different system where he greatly influenced the development of a 1:1 iPad initiative and led the shift in culture and learning made possible by the initiative.Ryan is dedicated to creating an environment where all students have agency in their learning. He advocates for a transformation of our education system. The current model treats learners as though they are all cogs or widgets that need to fit into the same mold. Ryan is passionate about helping students and schools break out of that mold to create an environment wherein all learners can find and follow their very own passions while they develop into the citizens our changing world needs.
