About Ryan Koeppen

I am an MIT mechanical engineer with a passion for innovation and designing anything that makes a difference in people's lives. For me, that's historically meant medical devices, but there are so many other ways I'd like to make an impact. Whatever it is I design, I give it the precision and detail it deserves. I focus on delivering, whether it's a hands-on prototype for research or a solution for a product in development. So far, my interests in mechanical engineering have been with medical devices and mechatronics. Through classwork, I've also worked on autonomous vehicles, control systems, and more. I'm always learning new skills so I can easily contribute meaningfully in different engineering fields. Through academic research and internships, I became competent in a wide range of skills, such as: Solidworks, FEA, rapid prototyping (CNC machining and 3D printing), DFX, MATLAB, data acquisition, and signal processing. I also learned to lead teams of engineers and scope R&D projects with a limited timeline. After graduating with my master's degree, I am looking to join a team in industry full-time. I want a team that shares a passion for innovation and making a difference in people's lives. Outside of the classroom, I can be found singing in MIT's choirs, composing music, staying active outside, and learning to cook or bake new recipes!
