About Ryan L. Korner

I am the Special Agent in Charge for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation-Office of Inspector General (FDIC-OIG) in the San Francisco Region. In my current role, I oversee FDIC-OIG’s operations for the Western United States, including Alaska, Arizona, California, Guam, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Prior to joining FDIC-OIG, I spent 23 years working for the Internal Revenue Service’s Criminal Investigation Division (IRS-CI), most recently as the Director of Field Operations for the Western Area. My passions are leading people and building strong public/private partnerships with the goal of protecting our Nation’s Financial System. I embrace a philosophy I call the “Leadership Multiplier.” The philosophy emphasizes that you can only do so much as an individual leader, but by focusing on the development and success of others you can greatly increase your ability to make an impact.
