About Ryan Lomax

I strive to improve the efficiency in organizations through better teamwork and optimization of human/financial capital. I began my working career in the lawn service business which led me to experiment with web-design for a local nonprofit. The goal of the organization was to raise awareness to the public about the Bike Trails in Anne Arundel County. This experience gave me the opportunity to present my finished website to Gavin Buckley (Mayor of Annapolis) and Steuart Pittman (Anne Arundel County Executive). This opportunity with the nonprofit organization could not have been possible without the support of my STEM magnet program in high school. It really allowed me to build on my skills in complex problem solving, project management and enterprise resource planning early. Learning the piano since the age of six has taught me the benefit of putting my undivided attention into what I want to achieve. Perfecting a piece requires hours of practice and an incredible amount of patience. Putting time aside for my instrument has required me to perfect my time management skills. My experiences in club soccer have taught me how to be the leader of a team. For over a decade, I have been involved in travel soccer and was honored to serve as captain for part of that time which allowed me to practice my leadership skills. The most important lesson I learned was to look out for those that go unnoticed. I believe leaders should validate and recognize employee success when they see it. More recently, I have gained experience with government contracting, becoming a trusted resource for my fellow employees within the office. We are responsible for managing eight million dollars of midshipmen’s travel for the United States Naval Academy each summer. Long hours of practice combined with my consistent drive and determination have prepared me to succeed in the work I do now and most importantly, the work to come in the future. Considering my diverse work and learning experiences, I find myself confidently ready to achieve new successes that await after college.
