About Ryan Loney

Through my time attending Western, I maintained strong academic standing while committing to full time employment and athletics. Effectively balancing my ambitious schedule taught me a multitude of skills that I believe have transitioned productively into the work force. Leadership: I earned roles as both the President and Vice Captain of Western Michigan University’s Men’s Rugby Club. These roles fully developed me into a strong leader both on and off the field. As President you are tasked with managing difficult behind the scenes, organizational duties as well as casting vision for your teammates; and as a captain, you must always play and behave as an example. Sales: As part of the Sales and Business Marketing curriculum, individuals have to take a variety of sales classes that entail a plethora of role plays. In my Professional Selling class I earned a spot in the top 5 in every role play activity we participated in. This allowed me to not only learn intricacies of the sales trade, but also prove that I am able to effectively implement this knowledge. Interpersonal Skills: During my time with Jungle Joe’s I served as the top rated party guide for every single consecutive month after I was trained, 48 months. This cultivated my public speaking abilities as well as my ability to effectively build report with individuals of all ages, kids through the adults. I have put my public speaking abilities to use as a public address announcer and MC for many events. I am driven to continuously expand and strengthen my network.
