About Ryan Lorenz

I am a returning college student studying mechanical engineering at UC Davis. After graduating from Dana Hills High School in 2004 I studied history at UC Irvine and graduated from the honors program in 2009 with a 3.69 GPA. Following graduation I begin exploring hands on career options and went to work as an arborist for Davey Tree. I advanced in the company and moved from Southern California to the East Bay where I passed the ISA Certified Arborist exam and was promoted to foreman, giving me responsibility for an Altec LR aerial lift truck and a crew. There I worked extensively with Pacific Gas and Electric and their customers to safely restructure trees away from the power lines. I gained extensive hands on experience working and repairing hydraulic and gas powered machinery. In 2012 I returned to school to pursue a long held interest in mechanical engineering, and completed my classes at Laney Community College with a 4.0 GPA. Currently I am looking for a summer internship position in the engineering field where I could utilize my positive attitude, strong work ethic, and technical problem solving skills and in turn gain experience.
