About Ryan Lubock

Hello there, my name is Dr. Ryan Lubock. I am a licensed psychologist in both California and Washington State. I am currently working as a clinical psychologist at Market Street Psychotherapy. I completed my postdoctoral fellowship at Adelphi University, where I served as the triage coordinator for the Postgraduate Psychotherapy Center. As part of the fellowship I saw patients, attended the Adult Psychoanalytic/Psychotherapy Program, and taught undergraduate and master's level courses at the university. I have sought out a wide variety of training opportunities, and I am comfortable providing therapy to a clientele that is both culturally and psychologically diverse, across a variety of outpatient and inpatient settings. More specifically, I have worked in community mental health programs in San Luis Obispo and Los Angeles Counties, and both the Long Beach and Spokane VA Health Care Systems. In addition to my academic and practicum and internship placements, I have made additional efforts to seek out trainings in treatments including Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy, Mentalization Based Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy to better serve my clients. As a first-year doctoral candidate, I developed a psychological services program at a charter school for underprivileged young adults in South Los Angeles in order to support the students with the psychological and systemic difficulties they were facing. In order to ensure the long-term success of the program and clients, I served as a consultant for the program, providing peer trainee consultation to a number of first-year doctoral candidates. Additionally, these experiences helped inform my decision to work with Drs. Shafranske and Falender on my dissertation on peer-consultation in hopes of better preparing training programs to teach students the knowledge skills and behaviors needed to become supervisors. In addition to these experiences, my leadership and interpersonal skills led me to be nominated by my peers to represent them on a variety of panels and committees for the purposes of quality improvement. In representing my peers, I make every effort to advocate for systemic changes to improve training and client care.
