My entire adult life has been spent as a public servant, first in the US Army, and more recently as the Executive Director of a public housing authority, focused on developing affordable and workforce housing. My passion is hands-on leadership, building high-performing teams, driving organizational growth to deliver outstanding results, even amidst resource constraints and ambiguity. MY VALUES: Life is for service. My personal values set includes respect for others; a strong work ethic; a sense of duty (to my team, employer, community, and country); teamwork; passion; integrity; grit; and ownership (of the mission, and responsibility for everything that happens, good or bad). LEADERSHIP: My joy is building and leading diverse teams that feel like family, in fast-paced jobs where confidence, charisma, and visible presence get results. MY PASSIONS: Politics (esp. state and local), affordable and workforce housing, progress, free and fair elections, inclusion, social justice, civil liberties, sustainability/renewables, serving disadvantaged and underserved communities; leading, mentoring, counseling, and helping others become the best possible versions of themselves; hunting, fishing, books, travel, being outdoors, BBQ, gardening, raising chickens, and lifting weights. ABOUT ME: I grew up in coastal NH and Maine, my family's ancestral home since the 1700s. I joined the Army 13 days after I graduated from Cheverus High School in Portland, Maine. I wore our nation’s cloth in some capacity for most of my adult life (25+ years), and spent months or years deployed in Afghanistan, western Africa, Iraq, and Qatar, along with four years stationed in Korea, and shorter duty in Australia, Japan, Kuwait, Spain, Turkey, and the UAE. In my personal life, I’ve explored Mexico, Belize, many Caribbean islands, and Guam.
