About Ryan M. Morreale

I am an adult educator, certified TESL Ontario educator (OCELT), a graduate of M.Ed and B.Ed Adult Education degree as well as a Human Geographer and OPSEU member with a unique philosophy of education. I strive to improve education through transgressive educational practices, academic program planning, learner-centered curriculum and culturally and socially diverse curriculum design. I empower learners. I am an adult educator, curriculum designer, workplace trainer and life-long learner with experience in various fields of education such as technology workplace training, English Language Learning and post-secondary education. I am graduate of: a Master of Education degree specializing in Social and Cultural Contexts of Education, a B.Ed. Adult Education degree, and a B.A. Human Geography degree. My research inquiry is/was and not limited to in the fields of: multi-literacy(ies), creative, reflective, and narrative writing as a scholar and personal life histories ( & workplace cultural, intercultural communication, and the list goes on). Intersectionality of rYan and all his identities! Academic, reflective and creative writing & art-based (using tech) research is my current journey. I enjoy writing and LOVE teaching. My students are FRONT and CENTER and are always at the center of our community. I have studied for numerous years and will continue to learn in various fashions - such - my students always teach me so much. I am a life-long learner however I would love to write a book one day - maybe about ME :)/ books. I would love to get published too. Most importantly I will continue to educate people in the classroom, on screen and on 'paper', and via technology. Ever hear of teachers as healers? bell hooks mentions this… I enjoy people, all kinds of people. I create a community based classroom and learning environment that includes various differences yet builds positive learning from our similarities. Have you heard of bell hooks? Her perspective on education - to transgress education and to meet the needs of the learner. I share her perspective and educational philosophy which builds my foundation of learning. I also share so many perspectives from my teachers whom are all superb educators. These perspectives ( & more ) are what I bring to the classroom and how I create a learner- centered curriculum following appropriate policies, procedures and guidelines.
