About Ryan Matthew

I am a graduate of Robert Morris University who has a deep love and passion from the game of basketball. Currently, I am pursuing my dream of playing basketball professionally. I am a combo guard who is a great defender, has excellent basketball IQ, and can lead a team. As a true team player, it is my responsibility to get the best out of my teammates. No matter what role I am put in, I will succeed and produce for any team. For the past two years I have played basketball at the collegiate level at Robert Morris University in Chicago. During my time at Robert Morris University I was tasked to become an elite on-ball defender, which I had not previously been known for. I helped lead my team and was one of the main contributors for our team being ranked 1st in steals per game(2018) and 3rd in total steals(2019)(Division II NAIA). My game high totals include 22 points, 5 steals, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 blocks. My time at Robert Morris has helped me become a more well-rounded player and learn the game of basketball on both sides of the court. Formerly, I attended Oakton Community College and played on the men's basketball team where I earned First Team All-Conference and Second Team All-Region awards in my Sophomore Year. During my Sophomore year I was given the responsibility as captain to lead a group of talented younger players that were not accustomed to collegiate level sports. I was also named player of the week 3 times in Region 4 by the National Junior College Athletic Association. In addition, I was awarded with First Team All Conference and 2nd Team All Region honors after my Sophomore season. During this same season I posted averages of 16.3 points per game, 4.8 rebounds per game, 4.6 assists per game while shooting 46% from the field and 34% from 3.
